LOL!! Awesome!

That's crazy that you all had rain and 45 degrees, but not far from you there's a huge storm causing 100 car pile ups!?!?

This is a short-term warm spell. It's going to stay about 45 until 2 a.m. and then bottom out to about 22 around 10 a.m. New Year's Day. So I won't bother trying to fire up the Bug and take it for a New Year's Eve spin ;)

No ice fishing yet. Green Lake (my favorite spot) is deep and won't be ready to go now with this warm-up until next week - if I'm lucky.

Reminds me of my old 340 Ski-roule, pardon the spelling. When it ran it ran great when it didn't I worked on it more than all my VW's combined. Damn I miss those days and the ice fishing, maybe next year. Thanks for the memories!

Skiroules are pretty sweet machines. My buddy with the Ariens Arrow also has a Skiroule back at his folk's place. I think it's a 440 model; it could give my T'NT a run. The Coleman Company (as in tents, sleeping bags, etc.) manufactured the Skiroules.

The photo below is a 1970 Skiroule R440. The woman riding in the sleigh looks less than thrilled. Dig the guy's sweater - back when you didn't need a helmet to snowmobile, just a wool sweater ;)

Man, I miss my little sled. Can you believe John Deere made a snowmobile? It wasn't much but it was fun. Good times...

Was it a Liquifire or Spitfire perhaps? I think JD started making snowmobiles in 1970 or 1971. I think the company ended production sometime in the mid-80s, perhaps 1984.

If I see any vintage John Deere sleds this winter I'll post up a photo for you.

Spitfire. Not much for power but it was light. Definately post some pictures if you see any JD's.

Cool. I'll post up photos if I come across any JD sleds this winter.

Found a shot on the internet... Small but fun and actually pretty reliable even with me beating the stuffing out of it.

Finally did some ice fishing last night out on Long Lake. It's a lake know for walleye, assorted pan fish and some big-ass muskies. However, I caught this guy on a Hali jig. We were going after walleye near the bottom - guess I was too low.

I was fishing with my brother-in-law and some other buddies. No one had every caught a mud puppy ice fishing :wow: We were in about 30 feet of water. Perhaps I dropped the jig on his head and he got pissed and bit the minnow. It was a "what-the-hell" moment when I pulled this ugly sucker out of the ice

I threw him back down the hole - although maybe deep-fried mud puppy tastes good?

I shot some video of the T'NT today. I strapped our little Nikon CoolPix to my head using, of all things, swimming water goggles turned backwards. The video is a bit bumpy - just like the field behind our house :) The speedo doesn't work, but the sled is running around 5,000 - I had it about 3/4 throttle.

Here is a YouTube link to my ride:
