I shot some video of the T'NT today. I strapped our little Nikon CoolPix to my head using, of all things, swimming water goggles turned backwards. The video is a bit bumpy - just like the field behind our house :) The speedo doesn't work, but the sled is running around 5,000 - I had it about 3/4 throttle.

Here is a YouTube link to my ride:

Love it! Did you have the camera strapped to your head?

Yeah, I used a pair of old swimming googles turned backwards. I tucked the camera in the strap, pushed the shutter (play) and took off.

If my buddy every gets his old Ariens running I'll shoot video of us "drag racing" out in the field

I checked the Michigan Dept. of Natural Resources website - no Master Angler patch for mud puppies :D

I'm hoping to get back out on the ice this week. Hopefully smelt fishing or walleye on Lake Leelanau about 8 miles from house. I'd like to catch something that doesn't crawl away :?

Thanks. If not smelt or walleye, we might hit Ellis Lake for pike on tip-ups - that's always fun.

I talked with one of my other buddies who said he'd caught a couple mud puppies while ice fishing on Long Lake. Still, it's pretty unusual. The mud puppies are an indicator that the lake is pretty healthy - but I still wouldn't eat one :X

This my snowmobile,ATV,truck and now we're talking ice fishing, maybe my new ice fishing hut when I get back up there. Chop a hole in the passenger side floor and the VW becomes even more universal!
