here's the said car's build thread. Isn't pigpen one of the kcw guys?. http://www.kustomcoachwerks.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=2023&sid=26bdaa5fc61a50e04fe1f2d86858d1ef I do like the silver/red interior notch on twists minus the type 1 motor.

Yes Pigpen is one of the KCW guys now. But in 2007 when he built that car, he wasn't. As far as Howards Notch goes, I agree I would rather see something else in there but it was what the customer wanted. And with the Porsche style shroud it fits the theme of the car.

I still dont know what public rant you are referring to. my best guess is Scotty's post referring to KCW, which i have no problem with a person speaking his mind in defense on a comment you made about KCW, What I dont see is how this reflects or has anything to do with DLK. Your a non member as is Scotty G. It just happens to be on our board. Believe me no one in DLK walks on egg shells.

Well put, E ;)

anyways, i'll post something back on topic.

heads are on their way to Rimco(i bought them in Cali so I might as well get the machine work done there too)

I just picked my parts up from the machine shop, had everything balanced and the 71mm crank polished, turned out awesome. The flywheel is a lightened(12.5lb), forged 200mm conversion flywheel, I'll be running that till the 091 is installed. I still need to get my 228mm flywheel lightened and resurfaced.

There is a woldwide shortage on type 4 bearings, mine look/measure good, so i'm going to have PolyDyne coat all the bearing and run what I got(this is just a mild 2L build afterall). 2 weeks ago Silverline released STD/STD bearings, they have a bad history so its hard to say what will come out of this. I do have a set of Mahle STD/STD's that i'm rat holing away for my future turbo build.

My engine build is back on track.

while i'm waiting on the heads to get tuned up i've been busy getting all the little details handled. I'm very OCD about hose clamps, luckily I found some intake runners on the samba that had 13 of them still attached and I have an extra set of stock injectors...score!

I mocked up the stock bus FI just to make sure everything jives, its a crappy photo as usual :hillbilly:
