I'm glad you found a home for the 914 but I personally would rather have a 914 then a dune buggy...no offense to the buggy peeps.

Nice start on a project. Now you only have two months until the Buggy Blast in Salado so you better get busy. I like the idea of a street buggy. Lowered, wide, and looking mean. Are you going to do a total rebuild or just get it running and driving then work on it as time permits?

Take a look at the firewall area, sometimes the manufacturers glassed in a business card to help identify them. As you have said it is still an X-File buggy. Make sure you post up on DuneBuggyArchives if you find out who made those. For reference my windshield is chopped down to 12" and is just right for me. However when my son drives he has to lay the seat way back so he can look through the windshield and not over it :D If you are putting new floor material you may consider a two inch drop in it help with the lowered windshield. Good luck and holler if you need any help.

"H code motor are on the car"
Thing Block?....... "H" motor code? Does it have some threaded bolt holes in the bottom block?

I'm pretty sure it is reference to a "HO" case. A thing would have a "AH" case.
I haven't paid that close of attention to the motor. I just chalked it up to a possible rebuildable core. Single port heads. But for some reason its an "AH" I will let you know.
