Dilon swoop on that thing. make sure you and the seller go and have that BOS notarized, will make getting the title a whole lot easier, also check the VIN to make sure its not stolen. You can call the tax office and they'll check it oer the phone.

BOS? Bucket O' Shit? lol!
I'm looking at it on Tuesday. Its got a rusty cab floor and driverside lower dog leg, but the rest seems to be fairly solid from the pics. It doesn't look like it would take muc to make it a driver.....Its nicer than my last bus.
You have a number for the tax office?
What do you mean by get notarized? The bill of sale?

ya bill of sale=BOS, your bank should have that service for free. here's Harris county's tax office 713-368-2000. my bad on butchering your name up w:pw. Its a bit of a process to get a title, a notarized bill of sale will be a must. Basically you'll get a bonded title, and if I'm not mistaken the bond will be on it for 3 years, if the PO with the title doesn't claim it in that time you'll get the money that you posted up on (should be around $200ish) and a clear title. The nice thing about a bonded title is a PO with the title can't come back and say, "hey, thats my bus" and drive away with it. PM me if you want more info.

Call me tues when your looking at it and you won't need the tax office.

All you need to get a bonded title is a bill of sale. It does not have to be notorized as for the owner coming back to get the vehicle. He can but that is where the research goes into the bond it's insurred to at least get the money you've invested back

The bond is for three years but after that three years you do not get your money back that goes to the insurance company that bonded the vehicle.

I used to have a guy that would do it for 200 but I don't think he is doing them due to health problems. It takes an insurance company to issue a bonded title and Joe was searching around and it is more like 500 now. If you know of one for 200 let us all know.

Damnit, I guess I was off a little :hillbilly: Thanks for clearing it up Billy. Its a pain in the butt to generate a title, but for a early splity at that price I think its worth it.

It's realy not hard to get a title. For that price I would not shy away from it. I bonded my oval and I bought a bus that needed a bonded title. As long as it's not stolen it should be fine.

Thats the key part....Not stolen!

It should be an easy driver. It has some rusty spots, but nothing like the Squareback. If I get it I'm gonna part out that dune buggy.
