actually you have to have it installed to test unless you have a nose cone to put it on, the bushing in the trans allows the starter to work without it it just sits on the housing

Then its different than what im used to. My vehicles have all been american muscle and i know you can test that type without it being in anything.

yea vw is different ha ha actually I was told the auto stick starters can be bench tested without a nose cone 'cause its built with one

Thats a good looking car man. There do seem to be a lotta 60's popping up lately. Hopefully mine will be back on the road soon and we can compare notes.
