Just got to wire up the coil packs and upload a new tune to megasquirt. It will be running fo sho tomorrow. I went from 4 wires to the engine to 30+ wires, shit got real.

The ignition harness is complete and looks friggin good, I don't need to to modify it at all when I do my final wiring with the motor in the car. Holy fucking shit there is a lot of crap hooked up between the car and the engine :wow:

I just got to upload the new map and set the intial setting and hopefully everything works and get the cam broke in. :geek:

a couple of months ago I got a pretty nasty virus on my laptop and had to reformat the hdd. prior to that I had good comms with the megasquirt. needless to say i don't anymore and I can't remember what I did to make them talk. I posted up on STF, there are a few really smart dudes. I'm going to keep trying to get this to work but without comms to my laptop I got zero management. If it was easy everyone would be doing this.

This is a cool project. I'm a big fan of megasquirt, I ran it on my t1 while I was in college.

Are you using a usb-serial adapter?

Where do you live? If your close, I'd like to come down and check out your install.

ya my laptop is one of the newer ones and i have to use a serial to usb cable, but i got it all talking. I haven't been updating this thread but the motor is in the car, i had a clean tooth log on tuner studio before i soldered the VR leads so i'm thinking i might have switched the polarity because its all kinds of wack now. also my coil drivers were causing high voltage arcing, might have been a crappy solder bridge but i decided to build a ign box seperate from MS. I also smoked my starter  , just got a new automatic starter so i'll hopefully get'er runnin tomorrow. I'm in La Marque, the dirtay deep south of houston area  your more then welcome to check it out.

so ya a type 4 in full trim fits nicely in a early notch
