Thanks guys... I still can't grasp the fact that I own this cool car! I'm planning on putting it up for sale soon, but after having the kind of fun with it like yesterday.... kinda makes me want to rethink.

I only took a couple of pics of the trip over... here they are

Found a nice photo op close to the house before I hit the road...

Cool video! Definitely hauling ass in the picture, is that oil temp showing above 220 on the left?

Now Kostya... you know you're potentially gonna start an "oil temperature slug fest" thread! :nono:

Too many opinions on that subject... and what most folks don't consider is that oil temp gauges are notoriously inaccurate.... oops... I just threw out the first opinion! ;)

I let the oil pressure gauge and my nose tell me when it's too hot. Then I see where the oil temp gauge's "normal" spot is.

Put 2 different oil gauges on the same car and you might be surprised how different they read. Check Gene Berg's site -- there's a good amount of info in his tech section.

That is my favorite car ever! My notch with a stock type 3 Swing axle does 3900 @ a gps 70mph, looks like we have very similar gearing. I think I run out of RPM's around 102, I'm too scurred to test that right now.

Cool... but on the other hand... a rowdy "oil temperature" thread could be very entertaining

I was really surprised that the 356 speedo is within +/- 1 mph of my GPS reading.....

I heart me a rowdy oil temp thread. For me I keep an eye on my head temps, and thats it...ignornace is bliss :hillbilly:

Scotty- not mine, I took it apart to lube modify the speedo and now its 13-15 mph off. I need try and recalibrate it.
