To remove the covers, you will see little spikes along the frame which holds the covers down. You will need to bend the spikes up very carefully not to break any off as you will need those to reattach the new covers. Once this is done, you will remove the old covers, horsehair, and clean the frames. Then you lay your sisal cover down(kinda like carpet joup).Cut the sisal to match the frame but leave enough slack to push underneath the frame to not cut into the padding. I use the hog ring set up to secure the sisal to the frame. Glue can work if you glue the sisal to the cover..but I wanted something that I knew wasnt coming off, or sliding.

I then fitted the padding over the sisal and frame. The TMI padding has a lip that will go around the frame and kinda hold itself into place. No glue needed, unless you feel like glueing.. You then slip the cover over the padding and frame inside out.

This part helps if you have someone helping you. When you have the covers on..have the other person push down on the spring while you pierce the covers thru the spikes and take a small hammer and tap the spikes down holding the covers in place. Make sure your covers are nice and taut and are on straight. To work the side there are small draw strings that you will draw taut and tie into a small knot on the spring housing, drawing in any slack from the sides. Again, before you wrap up the back make sure everything up to this point to staight, no slack on the front or sides, IF everything is good then have your helper push down again on the springs and finish up the rear, as the front pushing the cover thru the cover and tapping down the frame spikes. You just fished the bottom of your seats! I used NO glue whatsoever on the covers.. Below is the tweed sand, and black vinyl TMI seat covers for a 63 Single.
