Yeah, the gas gauge level sweeps past the full mark when I fill it up. I just won't run it down past 1/4 mark for now ;)

A nice 72 Ghia drove in late to the car show yesterday. I didn't get a chance to talk with the guy. I'd never seen it around town before. Then, as I was leaving work tonight, a 68 or 69 I'd also never seen before drove right past me. Too cool.

Thanks. It's good to have it back on the road.

I'm still trying to find/stop the annoying hypoid oil leak. I don't want to kill my all to short summer drive season and yank everything out to fix a $5 gasket (if that's where it's really leaking).

Screw it! Just drive the hell out of it all summer (keep an eye on it, of course), then fix it in the winter. Can't be anything serious leaking.

I think the trans seal might have been bad/going and when the hypoid was filled to the proper level it started to leak. I'm keeping an eye on the level. I also have a small valve cover leak that new gaskets can't seem to fix either - but that's just more character spots on the garage floor.

Hey, do you run accelerator cable conduits/tubes in your 64? I discovered that my exposed accelerator cable was cutting into the trans case - not good. I picked up a conduit for that area, but have struck out on several online sources for the conduit that runs through the fan shroud.

I have a new accelerator cable because the one in the Bug is overstretched - haven't had time to install.

as far as the 6 or 7 inch conduit , you can use copper tubing and flar the end .
