Well now that I'm back on my feet with a job and money is going better than ever  . It was time for another project 8-) I picked up a 55 oval couple of months ago for the next project.

I spend about a 4 weekends cutting metal out and putting it on a diet. I'm not in any hurry to finish it real quick because of the hot weather here in Texas  This might be a winter project for sure. Still got more metal to cut out.. :wow:

Its been a long day on the road picking up the donor car couple of weekends ago. But it was a good score even through I already knew the car from when it was originally built from a high school buddy and till this day never been on the track.

Here's a list of the parts

NEW Wilwood rear disc brakes
BERG Shifter
RLR Roll cage
RLR Frt end mount
RLR 1" Trans raise kit
Wilwood steering quick release hub
SAW adjustable spring plate
SAW 28mm torsion bar
Adj. ball joint beam
ball joint spindle mount
Centerline wheels
Wik frt end ( never been mounted )
etc.....

All new parts of course but will need to be cleaned up LOL!! Now I'm closer with the car than I was yesterday looking at just a body. Either this week or next I'm taking the body off and putting on the oval body. But before that I will have to redo some of the cage and other minus stuff on the chassis. I'm excited now.... Here are the pictures of the donor car.

Update:

Friday night took the old body off the chassis so I can start working on the chassis/roll cage. Sunday night I cut out one of the frt downbars and tomorrow I'll finish the other on afterwork. Also cut out a bracket that they weld to the rear downbars to hold the huge oil cooler that they got from a Dodge cummins. :nono: Called Ron Lummus last week about getting the 6x6 plates for the cage and when he gets back from his trip he'll ship them out to me.

Been busy working on the car, but alot might not see it. I have alot of hours on the body and now the chassis. Also going to narrow the frt beam 3" and the rear 3" with a transmission raise. Need to get those 8" slicks under the CCC stock width fenders. LOL!!

that was pretty straight oval, did it have some issues that wouldn't allow it be titled?
