to give you an idear of how big this ish is, the front calipers are 304mm dia and 34mm thick. rears are 298mm and 24mm thick. I'm going to need about 500 hp to even heat up these mofo's :D

That's a lot of brake for a car as light as a VW. The guys I know of that road race ghias (and spank Vetts, Miatas, etc) use stock VW disk brakes with good pads and they say it's plenty. ;)
Those are going to look bad ass for sure though 8-)

Mine lock up the wheels and get a little scary, I would be too scared to panic mash the breaks with those sized calipers!!!!

this is purely for looks and to go with the GL theme, my stock brakes worked awesome.

Chris your using 135's, if you look at them wrong they lock up w:pw I'm going with 205's up front, it's still going to be hard to lock those up, but I will be peeling myself off the windshield

Those looks sweet!!! fosho..

I have 195/45 michellens on my with varga calipers and my ride stops pretty darn well..
even in heavy rain.. the setup has saved me more than once in traffic..

I would assume Chrispies tire size has a little to do with his lockin' up....

Nick.. those are pretty killer.. I followed that thread you posted up about on shoptalk.. man o man
that is pretty cool power for what he has.. although not my style in most everycase but still pretty cool indeed..

So I cleaned up one of the arms that Ryan dragged back, then mocked up the brakes, shoved a twist on it, and...

Image

It's the wrong setup :furious:

...but I'm a fucking ninja so I already figured out only 2 things are different between the narrow and wide Aluminum arms: the rotors and the hubs. I got a set of the correct rotors, and I found the good hubs on garbay. Problem solved, hopefully the problem will stay solved. I still got a bunch more little crap to get to make all this work. The plan is to have the brakes done before the year is over.
