Hey E;
This A-1 stuff is pretty well made -- the j-tube flanges lined up nice.

Yep I know they are made well Im on my 4th one (regular not sidewinders) and the one I have for the 62 is different than the production models in that the exhaust doesnt dump down onto the ground but behind the rear wheel , I really wanted the VBand but I couldn't justify the extra 100 at the time. Is Tiger still wanting that much for the upgrade? I got the pleasure of buying the last one direct from him at his store.

Ethan:
I think the v-band was a $40 upgrade, but I could be wrong.

The headers/j-tubes fit nice, but the muffler is rubbing the tire. The long stroke of this 2387 makes for a wide engine. The header tubes have slip fits, so they adjust for the width, but the tubing on the muffler's gonna need some fab work. I'll call Tiger tomorrow, but I may get the work done locally if my expert TIG welder buddy has some extra time. I may be better off sending it back to Tiger, just to make sure the welds are nice.

The old system is also an A-1, and we had to modify muffler when I moved up to the 2387. I just assumed that system was made for the smaller original motor. I talked to Tiger about it before I ordered and he was confident it would fit the wider motor. Like I said, the header slip fits adjusted fine... I just ran out of chassis width. Another 1/4" to 1/2" is all I need, but that's enough to be an issue.

No biggie.... my old system is fine. I'll just put it back on for a while longer.

OK... just figured out why the muffler rubs the tire. It's my fault :oops: I forgot to tell him my torsion housing are narrowed.

I'm gonna send it back to A-1 for a "factory" cut/reweld with those purty little TIG beads. :thumbs:

Oh well.... back on with the old system for now.

What exhaust gaskets do you run on the bus?
