So I'm back on the velocity stacks, definitely has more pull now. Did a quick tune, notice the brakes were acting weird so I tightened the shoes. Still weird so I poked around the front end and tightened up the loose bearings, brakes are perfect again.

Here is a close up of my new pulley/linkage.
