So need to work on my engine and I figured I would give it a much needed facelift. This is the idea so far, what do y'all think? The left side carb is a sample of black manifold with a black/copper mix on the carb, I wasn't too thrilled. The right hand side is a sample of all copper, carb and manifold, which I really like. This is my photoshop rendition so I could visualize it, I think it will go with the car and be different enough. Maybe I can get to the wow factor that y'all have. Your thoughts and comments welcome.

While your photoshopping you should photochop off the empi logo's on the prefilter, that would make the engine look as lot better, lol.

Seriously I'm digging the all copper mani/carb

Too much copper. I'm a Chef and love copper, but dang! I would do the fan blade and all the stainless hardware on the motor. Do all black carbs with intakes, but do the linkage on the carbs in copper. and clear coat it all. Polishing it is a bitch......

Next time I sit down Ill take the empi off. LOL

It will be all clear coated so it doesn't oxidize, the guy doing it said that's how they have done it in the past.

Would you be painting the carbs if going with copper color?

Carbs and manifolds would be copper plated. All hardware would be stainless.

Someone was going to chrome a 911 fan one time and he was told he would have major issues with it being off balanced once chromed. Would that have the same effect with the copper plating?

I would also wonder if the carb could be plated as well wouldn't that cause issues?

Would you paint the shroud black or leave it the color it is now?

I've done some research and there are mixed opinions on chroming carbs. They have a process that is painted then sprayed with a chemical that makes it look chrome or copper.

http://m.youtube.com/#/profile?user=kro ... iew=videos

This is the process I'm thinking of using so it doesn't throw the balance off and screwing up the carbs. Just like paint, he said he did a 4 barrel on a Chevy and didn't have any issues.

But I wanna here talks thoughts. Thanks for everything.
