UPDATE!!!

Haven't been able to do much with her for months, but in the last 3 weeks:
1. New Empi header and hideaway muffler
2. Acquired bumpers from an aircooler in Spring and cleaned them up this last weekend and got them bolted up.

Hopefully Drop spindles coming soon.

Also, I visited Kermit's new shop on Saturday. Very nice place. My youngest son went with me and he wanted to go grab Sonic and watch the planes land. I snapped this pic just before we left.

After a two year hiatus, and having to sell off some parts, I have decided that it is time to get her going again and rebuild her. Here is a basic synopsis of the project plan:
1. remove window glass, all wiring, seats, speedo, radio, etc from car.
2. acquire one rear and two new front fenders. Turn signals are going to the bumper, so I plan on getting new front fenders with no hole in the top.
3. acquire decklid.
4. sand eveything down for paint. I have decided on painting her black with a tan interior. (I may try and paint her myself) I like seeing the new paint jobs and the tins when they are all newly painted and shiny, especially the black ones!
5. Once painted, start putting things back together.
6. I plan on getting an engine from TestBud in San Antonio (from the "other" Aircoolers site). A guy I work with bought one and he said he has had no issues at all with it.
7. I would like a Freeway flyer tranny. I want to be able to crusie at 70 and not wind up the motor too much. Thoughts?
8. I want some 8 spoke, black wheels, and upgrade to disc brakes and drop spindles. Also, would like to have beam narrowed by 2-3 inches.

What I ask from you guys is your encouragement to get this done, and if you want to help turn a wrench and lend some expertise, please feel free. I cannot pay in US Dollars, but I can definitely cook up a mean hamburger!

My oldest son starts driving in June (grades allowing!) so I will need a car to drive by July 4th.

I'll post up some pics soon of what I am restarting with.

Wayne,

I was going to PM you and see where you were at with yours. (And also get you to smack Thomas for me.)

Not sure If I will remove the body, since I am a little time-crunched. I would love to though. If you need help sometime, let me know.

AWESOME! That is really close to the picture in my mind of what I want her to look like! Any interior pics?

Thanks for the inspiration!
