No, my floors are not glass. And they are in good condition. My heater channels are also in good shape.

When I say cut the glass out, I mean cut seal around windshield, back glass and the side windows. Got to put in a headliner...

And I am tagging and bagging stuff as I take it off. I got a big plastic bucket with my bags in it.

One thing I probably need to do more is more pictures.

Wayne, I will check out that link in the morning. I am interested in seeing what your vent windows looked like as you removed them.

looks like we are headed in the same direction. my mig welder is at a storage facility off of north park. that's where I replay the rear pans on my Ghia. I'm in cypress but I work in Kingwood. I could possibly meet you there to do the welding when your ready if I have not moved it back to cypress.

You can get a beam from Shawn at hard knock ( he will likely see this post and contact you) or you can check with the bug shop in new caney ( can't remember if it's 1314 or 1485 about half way to Conroe). haven't had any work done there but he claims he can do anything. Otherwise you can try to locate a used one. they are given away at shows and the winner usually already has one. Then they it them up for sale at a swap meet.

I am willing to offer my 2c if you need some help since I am so close almost daily.

AWESOME! Thank you for the offer. Hopefully it will not be too long and I will have a better idea if welding is needed. Where in Kingwood do you work?

I was going to go by the shop in New Caney and talk with the guy over the last weekend, but I did not make it up there. Maybe this coming up weekend. I just hope he is not too expensive in his work and that it is good work.

before I considered narrowing he was going to install the adjuster for 175.00. don't know if that is considered expensive.
I work at a forensic engineering firm on Northpark.
the storage area and welder are at the business center by russel Palmer.

That seems real high when you can get a BRAND NEW narrowed and adjustable beam with new tie rods for $265 with freight

that was about eight months ago and I did not know any better but I am glad I didn't do it. one of you guys told me that the ones with the bushings were not any good when I asked about just cutting the ends from a stock beam. Just asking it thanks for the response.

OK, finally some progress...

I found a set of 4 stock wheels for $20 in Dallas, so I drove up and got them last week. My first question is how do you break the bead on the old crusty tires so I can paint or powder coat these wheels?

Yesterday, I took all of the glass out. Under the glass seals there were some rust sports, but it appears to be only surface rust.

This week, I hope to get the rest of the wires out and the brake fluid reservior out. Then back to paint stripping. I did some paint stripping yesterday...

I had an old set of wheels I tried beating on the bead to break it with a sledge if that doesn't help you may have to take to a tire guy. I had two that even the tire guys machine ripped the tire before the bead broke free.
