1. im laying out a plan for my 1971 super beetle. i don't have a motor and i was looking at CB Performance motor kits. i want a street and strip set up. Would CB Performance a good choice. any other suggestions

2. In 1971 they made super bee and a standard. My super bee is a flat window i want to change the front fenders and hood to a std model they look better to me. Ive seen a couple of bugs done this way but no details on how. Does anyone have any input.

Early supers looks awesome lowered, if you want a std beetle then sell the super beetle and buy a late model beetle. Maybe it's a pet peeve of mine from when I was a super beetle guy but I hate hearing a super beetle being called a bug... they are superior to bug's w:pw

Way back in the day I ran one of the first prototypes for the Topline Maxx struts http://toplineparts.com/products/maxxstruts.htm I was slammed and the ride quality was awesome plus it handled stupid well (I lived in the sierra nevada mountains so I was in the twisty stuff everyday). I also did the caster fix bushings, 7/8" ft sway, 3/4" rear sway bar, bronze idler arm bushing, and poly bushings on the front control arms. It was like driving a modern car.

If you want to build a drag racer then a super isn't the best choice, and you should be looking for a early beetle (they weight a lot less), but if you want a daily then the super with a few of the right parts will be perfect for that.

I think the superior beetles fenders are longer than the standard beetles, every one I've had wouldn't fit standard fenders, not saying it can't be done but you might have to do some cutting

You can't get the early look on a Super. It just doesn't bolt up. Give it a "German Look"...... Slam it on some 18s......
