Early supers looks awesome lowered, if you want a std beetle then sell the super beetle and buy a late model beetle. Maybe it's a pet peeve of mine from when I was a super beetle guy but I hate hearing a super beetle being called a bug... they are superior to bug's
Way back in the day I ran one of the first prototypes for the Topline Maxx struts
http://toplineparts.com/products/maxxstruts.htm I was slammed and the ride quality was awesome plus it handled stupid well (I lived in the sierra nevada mountains so I was in the twisty stuff everyday). I also did the caster fix bushings, 7/8" ft sway, 3/4" rear sway bar, bronze idler arm bushing, and poly bushings on the front control arms. It was like driving a modern car.
If you want to build a drag racer then a super isn't the best choice, and you should be looking for a early beetle (they weight a lot less), but if you want a daily then the super with a few of the right parts will be perfect for that.
