VWag made 6 prototype notch verts back in '62, one is in the museum, and there are rumors of one somewhere in Europe but the other 4 have been crashed out.

Ya that thing is a hack chop, bid on it, there are 2 other bids on it right now and it's the talk of the town over on the samba. I don't know how serious Chuck is but I don't think I can swing it so have at it. If you do end up getting it and parting it out there are a couple of things I want.

I got a porsche 914 complete drivetrain Sunday. It was full of water, turns over by hand but the starter is burned up. Maybe I'll have it running in a couple of days. I don't think the water has been in it very long, and it looked surprisingly good when I took the drain plates (if it was a rod bearing I would have seen lots of "evidence" of that) off so I still have high hopes that it's a possible runner. Worst case it needs heads (I got a good set of 1.7L liter heads squirrled away), rings and a honing. That thing doesn't look like it was a leaker either. Weird thing is the case code is for a '74 1.8L (Calif only), I'm going to double check the head numbers.

EDIT: Correction, it is a 1.7L but it's the high compression one, 80hp@4900 rpm

Didn't know any other way to get these to you Nick. Came across them while doing some net surfing.

Much classier now...

Took it for a spin, the radio is super clear and plenty loud for everything but the freeway. Time to make a firewall behind the backseat and build a small amp.
