Such an early t34 specimen, I say get it running and keep it 100% stock then sell it and get something not so rare, like a bug or type 1 ghia and slam the shit out of that.

Nate you are aware there are only a couple of hundred type 3 ghias left in the world right?

Why would he want to sell it he already has a nice type one that is slammed? Also if they are sooooo rare why have so many been for sale this past year I know of three in the houston area that have been bought and sold in the last year. In fact Allen has two or three of them that can be bought right now.

Keep it stock and just enjoy it, a car like that is awesome in stock form, like really awesome.

Edit- Ethan, Nate can't have 2 slammed bugs? Nate- if you are going to actually restore it, the average timeline for most T34 resto's is 10 yrs. Bobnotch has one of the fastests restorations and he is at the 1.5yr mark, but he has been working overtime on it. Awesome build thread http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewto ... highlight=

That's funny was just on looking at "Wolfie"

Finishing up some updates on my Bug and have to finish building a shop before I tear into it, so I have some time. I know and hear they are fairly rare, specially that year. Whatever direction I go want to keep it fairly stock, so if need be I can go back to stock fairly easy.

Defineatly bigger engine and disk brakes.... Always have liked the slammed look.

This is my opinion but that thing is ugly. It's your razor but please don't go down that road.

A mild lowering like how my notch is and hang on to those rare stock brake parts when you do the disc brake upgrade would be awesome. If you ever decide to make it a 1500club car then it would be a piece of cake to go correct. BYI restoration means you are returning everything to how it came from the factory. Resto-custom is what I think you have in mind for that car.

KCW killed that car when they shaved the front headlights, fog lights, and taillights. You can see the build thread on their website.

I completely agree, it's the sum of all parts and that combo just doesn't work.
