Hopefully I will be able to get out to the garage tonight, I am going to try and get my intake on!
I bought a new fuel pump today, turns out the Holly Blue pump I was using would be more than the Red regulator could handle (I talked to Holly tech support yesterday and they told me this). My two options were to one, put a Blue regulator between the pump and the Red regulator to step the pressure down, or two, switch to a Red pump. It would have cost close to as much to do option one as option two and it would have meant mounting another regulator, making new braided lines, and having one more thing to adjust, so I opted to just get the Red pump for those reasons. The last thing I need to do is make my car more complicated, lol.

Here's a pretty picture :)

It will look a lot better too when I get all the grimey hand prints off my fan shroud, lol

Thanks! I can't wait to get the carbs and linkage on, then it's really going to start to look sweet!

I need to figure out a way to mount my coil. I am going to run a blue coil for now and then switch to a Mallory E-series in a couple months, and it has totally different mounting. So I dont really want to drill holes in my fan shroud for something temporary. I'll fugure something out...

That shouldn't be too big of a problem. Can't wait to hear it run!

I made a little progress last night. I wasn't happy with how the left valve cover oil breather line was routed in the engine compartment, so I made a new one. I also put my fuel pressure gauge on the other side of the regulator, turns out where I had it it would have been obscured by the decklid bracket. I also got the intake manifolds on and the studs put in them. The time I spent over the weekend clearancing those manifolds for a universal socket was time well spent, they went on really easy. I also finished one of the carb feed lines. Took me a little while to figure out how to route it so I could still get my hand back there to adjust the idle mixture. Next is the second carb feed line (just putting the second end on it), then linkage. Then, other than some other little things, just the rear brakes and the gas tank. SWEET!

I *almost* got it to the point of firing it up last night. I was trying to build oil pressure and fill the lines by turning it over with no spark plugs or pushrods and after about 30 seconds the damn pulley lucked up! I managed to get it out and it has galled itself into the case!
Unfortunately, it f'ed up the case a little. My solution will be to use a "press-in" style sand seal and pulley, which Kermit has. I can clean up that inner surface of the case a little and the seal should go right it. Luckily we didn't have to pull the motor, just the rear tin and the pulley. Oh well, a couple more day delay I guess isn't that big of a deal, its been 3+ months already, lol.
