Thanks Ethan. I guess my question is does the upper torque arm normally rest against the bump stop or should there be a gap?

On a stock setup it is what it is with no ajustment. So if it sits nose high or ass saging is there away to ajust the rear suspension to bring the ride to level without ajustable beam or drop spindles?

Thanks again Ethan!

Respline the trailing arms. There are a million threads on theSamba on lowering the rear. You would just go up, instead of down.

Personally I would not raise the rear end. I would just add dropped spindles to the front to bring it down.

Started to work on the front suspension. Had to replace the drivers side lower trailing arm because the mounting stud for the shock was broken and since I was there I replace all four tube seals. Now I am in the process of cleaning/checking the spindles. I checked the link pin adjustment before I removed the assembly and was able to remove any slop however the kingpin has just a touch of movement, not too bad.I also noticed with all the suspension bits removed from the steering box that the steering gear bind up about 3/4 through the travel and there wasn't much adjustment left so I got a new TRW unit.
The grease spot under the front is left over from the Mini :D

Good luck with that chinese steering box, I helped Chuck with his, it was a complete POS and he ended up returning it and putting a good used one in.
