A little more progress recently...

Underneath cleaned up a bit and oil cooler re-mounted. I'm changing the oil routing around a bit to make it more simple

Firewall cleaned up. It was pretty grimy after 4 years of daily driving.

Adjustable spring plates indexed and mounted for good. The nice thing is you don't have to get them exact, but I got them both to within about 0.2 degrees of where they were before just by indexing the bars. I can fine tune them with the adjusters now. I put in Prothane inner and outer bushings, so toe changes should be pretty minimum now.

Tranny is going in next, then the rear disk brake kit. I finished blueprinting the bottom end of the motor a while ago, so basically I just need to bolt it together. I'm going to order my custom valves this week.

Looking good Brian. Have you run the adjustable spring plates before? We put a set on Eliots vert but had to take them off due to rubbing issues. They did make it easier to fine tune the ride height but they did not seem to move it as much as I thought they would.

I haven't run them before. I had to clearance them a lot on the torsion bar end, they were hitting the torsion bar housing on the chassis pretty bad and were binding and didn't have their full range of motion. After I did that they swung from stop-to-stop very freely. The key for me was to install them with no torsion bars to check for binding and to figure out how many washer were needed to space the spring plate covers out to account for the thicker spring plates. I set the adjuster screws in the middle and then indexed the bars to where my car sat before. That way I would be able to go up or down a bit. I'm looking more for fine tuning the rear suspension than radical changes in ride height.

Where was Eliot's rubbing? :?:

Eliots tire rubbed on the block that the adjustment screw goes through.

Ah, I see. When I determined the backspacing for my custom wheels I took into account I would be running those spring plates. I guess I'll find out how well I took it into account when I put the rear wheels on :P

For Eliots car, I would think you could have just put a 1/8" or so spacer between the wheel and drum to solve the problem...

Yep that would have solved it, but he switched the brakes to Porsche pattern and he swapped the adjustable ones back to original when he rebuilt and detailed the pan.
