Great work their my friend. Looking good.
Few suggestions though.
1. Place the pans in like they are, lower your body back on and bolt up the pan. Tack in the pan halves and pull the body back off (or just weld as much as poss with it like that). The PO of the pan on my 63 didnt do this and the bolt holes are off 1/4" on both sides
2. Use your existing seat rails from the old pan if you havent already.
Your work is looking great though, looking forward to the progress.
Never thought of simplifying things by doing it that way... I have been taking many measurements and really stressing on getting the placement right!
Yeah, I still have to pull the seat rails, jack rails (points), and then try to get the lap belt anchor bungs off the old pans (may just weld new nuts there). I will, more than likely, have to get a spot-weld remove drill bit to carefully remove the seat rails and jack rail pieces.
