I spent about half the day at Darren's shop on Saturday modifying my IDAs and porting my Berg intake manifolds. The manifolds are basically done, they just need a little welding. On the carbs, we drilled the 3rd progression holes for better drivability and opened up the idle air jets...

Opened up the dead space in the bodies for more float bowl volume.....

and modified the inlets for less restriction...

Funny story about my heads... Darren was supposed to have them done Saturday, but when he was assembling them his valve compressor slipped and one of the special keepers I supplied shot across his shop, never to be found

I ordered some replacements today and had them overnighted to his shop so he can assemble them tomorrow. In the mean time, I brought one of the heads home for test fitting.
New L7 CNC heads...

Pauter 1.5 rockers....

Measuring lift at the valve and figuring out pushrod length. Lift at the valves is over .650"

That's a 10th of an inch more than I had before with the old cam and rockers, lol.

Checking valve-to-piston clearance, with Playdoh, lol. Plenty of room, about 1/8 inch, so no need to notch the pistons

Tonight I'm going to re-assemble the IDAs and try to take care of some other odds and ends. Heads should be done tomorrow
