Here are some close-ups of the pan frame. As you can see there is some cancer that needs to be repaired. Would anybody know what the gauge of the steel affected in the following pictures? I have not seen a replacement piece available for Ghias; I need to fab a patch piece and weld it in.

are you sure its thicker than the old floor pans? if its the same I would just use some of the best metal you have on the pan and fab a piece to fit and weld it in

That was my first idea, but I can only imagine that the spine and outriggers would be of thicker sheet metal.

I guess I will try to mic it and see what the thickness difference is. I definitely have some scrap left over! :lol:

I wouldnt mic it just look at it and if theres a big difference then you will have to get some metal but looking at the layers in the pic I bet its the same or close enough anyway....do you have a blaster? to clean the area up and make sure thats all where its messed up

Not yet. I need to buy one but I don't believe my compressor (single stage) will be up to the task.

it comes with the front area? I thought they were just the rear section only that works out good but I think he hast he pans already bought
