From experience i can tell you that the generic ball joint press tool from Vato Zone will not work. Kiefernet (who has disappeared from the face of the earth) has the VW tool for ball joints, I borrowed his to do mine. That was almost 5 years ago though.

NAPA Auto parts changed mine out for me James....should go there. wasnt that expensive that i recall

Been waiting too long for disc brake and the UPS said it will be here Thursday. Can't do it this weekend cuz going out of town so hopeful will do it next week. Might need help with the brake bleeding.
